Join the Yale Veterans Network and Diversability at Yale for an evening of community, conversation, and culinary delights. Catering provided by Bears BBQ, a local, veteran-owned business. All attendees will be entered into a raffle for prizes donated by Athletics, Yale Repertory Theatre, and the Wine Thief. The Yale Farm is wheelchair accessible and near the Yale shuttle. This event is open to fully vaccinated and boosted Yale employees. Pre-registration is required and is capped at 70.

2022 Symposium on Disability & Accessibility: Reimagining Space and Place at Yale

April 5-28 marks the 45th anniversary of the San Francisco 1977 Disability
Rights Protest, a sit-in that demanded the enactment of Section 504 of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This was a landmark piece of legislation for
people with disabilities in the United States and set the groundwork for the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. As we reflect on this incredible
historical action, we look to our present Yale environment to ask important
questions about how the campus supports and falls short for the disability
community.

Yale DiversAbility Alumni Group: In Conversation with Dr. Karin Muraszko ’77

Join us for this exciting livestream conversation with Dr. Karin Muraszko ’77, a trailblazer for women and persons with disabilities and one of the most celebrated pediatric neurosurgeons of our time. As chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Michigan, and a professor in the Department of Neurosurgery with joint appointments in Plastic Surgery and Pediatrics, Dr. Muraszko is the first woman to head a neurosurgery department at any medical school in the United States.

Welcome to the Graduate Student Disability Alliance (GSDA), an affinity group for graduate and professional students who are situated within the broad Disability umbrella. This group includes, but is not limited to, Disabled students, neurodivergent students, Deaf/ hard-of-hearing students, blind students, students with chronic illnesses, students with mental health conditions, and other students who receive or would like to receive accommodations.
